Maine, 21 octombrie 2009, The Gaithers Band va concerta la Debrecen, Ungaria. Voi merge sa-i vad:

Update: azi noapte la 4 AM am ajuns acasa in Cluj. Pe strada spre Romania, era plin de masini de Romania. La concert am facut multe poze si le voi incarca astazi, dar acum am niste filmulete facute cu mobilul, deci nu va asteptati la calitate WOW. Oricum, ce NU se vede in video s-a SIMTIT acolo in sala. WOW!!!

Desi initial programat pentru o ora si jumatate, concertul a durat peste 4 ore, publicul chemandu-i pe scena prin aplauze de nenumarate ori. Bill Gaither a exclamat la un moment dat catre artisti “They are amazing!” cu referire directa la publicul, repet, 94% din Romania.

Am o mare nemultumire atat personala cat si impartasita de zeci de romani cu care am discutat: trebuiau sa puna si un translator roman pe scena, deoarece romanii erau majoritari in sala.

Just finished the concert in Hungary for THE MOST EXCITED crowd I’ve EVER been in front of. I don’t have words that can describe it.

UPDATE 26 Octombrie 2009: Mark Lowry face referire pe blogul sau la mesajul trimis de catre mine, care, desi numai partial, explica pentru el, entuziasmul “romanilor” din sala:

But the highlight for me was singing for the Romanians. Their excitement was finally understood when I got a message from one of them who told me while they were under communist rule they would watch smuggled-in Gaither videos at their pastor’s home with pillows in the windows so the police wouldn’t catch them. They could get several years in prison if caught. They had to keep the sound very low. So to be able to worship in person with us, at full volume, was an experience they could only dream about a few years ago.
